The Ghibli was treated to a thorough mid-cycle update for 2018, its fifth model year. The S performance variants 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 has been tuned upward by 20 horses and 22 pound-feet of torque, to a healthy 424 horsepower and 406 pound-feet, and its hydro-electric power steering was replaced with a fully electric-assisted unit. Paired with a new Bosch Integrated Vehicle Control Traction system for better driving dynamics, the electric power steering allowed Maserati to add semi-autonomous features, including highway assist, lane-keeping assist, active blind-spot assist, and traffic sign recognition. There are restyled front and rear bumpers, a new grille design, and adaptive headlamps with glare-free matrix high beams. The Ghibli S GranLusso trim emphasizes luxury and comfort with interior and exterior cues.
